Mythos - Dreamlab (1975)

The second Mythos LP was originally released on Kosmische Musik, and encoded for Quadrophonic playback. The Peter Geitner cover had semi-metallic grey print that was prone to crack or rub-off!

Dreamlab contains floating, mainly calm and relaxed music. A part of the album was used for the film The Superspider. Often echoes of guitar and flute define the meter and are accompanied by Mellotron sounds. Like on the first LP, effects on voice and drums are frequently used.

Mythos - Strange Guys (1977)

A great krautrock album from the legendary band "Mythos" with hard rock guitars, psychedelic flute melodies, and moog synthesizer solos.
Mythos was a German rock band established in 1969, when they were known as The Lovely People. They debuted live in November 1970 under the name of Kraftwerk, until they realised there was another band with the same name, so then they chose the name Mythos. Always at the core of the band, through many line-up changes, was the multi-instrumental talent Stephan Kaske. He also was the lead singer, with a very strange voice and thick German accent, he's odd enough for you to love him or hate him. Mythos were always largely instrumental, rooted in the acid rock and cosmic sounds of Pink Floyd and Hawkwind, but with a much wider sound palette. The early albums are more cosmic Krautrock, whereas the mid/late 70's incarnation were heavier electronic rock, after which the band fell apart becoming the project of Stephan Kaske alone, doing electro-pop, and later soundtracks and library music.

Hans-Joachim Roedelius - Selbstportrait (1981)

Selbstportrait is the third solo album by German keyboardist Hans-Joachim Roedelius, best known for his work with Cluster, Harmonia, and Aquarello. The title is German for "Self Portrait", a title which clearly reflects the gentle, introspective nature of this album of ambient or new-age music. The original Sky Records release was subtitled Teil 1 Sanfte Musik, German for "Part 1, Soft Music."

Selbstportrait was recorded by Roedelius at his home in Forst, in the Weser Uplands of West Germany between various Cluster sessions from 1973 until 1977 on his ReVox A77 reel to reel.[1][2] The music actually predates the two previously released solo albums: Durch Die Wüste and Jardin Au Fou. The final mix was completed at Gorilla Studio in Vienna, Austriaat the end of April, 1979, with the exception of "Prinzregent" which was edited in Conny's Studio (owned by Conny Plank) in 1976.[2] Selbstportrait was originally released by Sky Records in 1979.[3] Phillipe Blache, writing the review for Prog Archives, describes the album, in part: "The music in itself is another exploration in electronic, pre-ambient 'picture' music but really orientated to the most 'mainstream' side of it."[4]

Selbstportrait and seven of 11 tracks from the follow-up album Selbstportrait - Vol. II were reissued as a single CD by Sky Records in 1996 under the title Selbsportrait I & II.[5] It was reissued in its original form on both LP and CD by the Bureau-Blabel on December 3, 2010.

Xisle - Winter's King (1985)

Xisle is Chuck van Zyl and Tom Gulch, composers of ambient electronic music. This album was recorded in real time on December 22nd 1985. There are two tracks (almost 30 minutes each) with atmospheric analogue synth drones-fx, warm pads and slow evolving melodies. "Winter's King" was released only on tape and is considered to be a hard to find album.

Thomas P. Heckmann - The Lost Tales vol.II (2013)

The second volume from the famous "Lost Tales" by Thomas P. Heckmann , an ambient-electronic composer from Germany.
The "Lost Tales" series (FAX Records) contains the unreleased stuff - that for whatever reason - was never released and were still big favorites for him and his surroundings.
They show the different side of Thomas with his big influences of the 60s,70s, Science Fiction and anything obscure, that he has last let out into public with his Exit 100, Age, Drax project in the nineties !

Thomas P. Heckmann - The Lost Tales Vol.1 (2008)

Thomas P. Heckmann is a Techno and electronic music producer from Mainz, Germany. His first release was as Exit 100 in 1991 on the Force Inc. Music Works label out of Frankfurt. In 1993 he founded Trope Recordings, and its sub-label Acid Fuckers Unite (A.F.U.) the following year. In 1998 he succeeded those labels by starting Wavescape, and its sub-label Sub~Wave in 2000. He restarted AFU Music with the new name of AFU Limited in 2005 with much success with his own and the massive releases by Popof and Butch. The sub label AFULAB was followed some time later.
He currently produces Techno and all forms of electronic underground music for AFU Limited, Nachtstrom Schallplatten, Carpe Sonum and the like.

"The Lost Tales vol.1" is a nice "Fax records" release and one of the best releases of Heckmann

Photis Houliaras and Thaneco - Migration (2015)

"Migration" is about the migration of people, ideas, feelings. All music is inspired by Berlin School Electronic music of the 70s and ambient techno of the Pete Namlook style. Happy The Man - Crafty Hands (1978)

U.S. progressive rock band (in the "canterbury school" style) that released three albums between 1977 and 1983 (the third was recorded in 1979, but first released in 1983). After a long hiatus, released a new album in 2004 with a new drummer and new additional keyboardist.

"Crafty Hands" has nice progressive rock moog solos and is my favourite one!

Takla Makan - 1632 (2003)

"Takla Makan is the artist name of Tony Allgood. During the 1980s Tony played keyboards in a variety of bands including 'Cairo' and 'Not Before Time'. In 1986 he started producing his own synthesizer instrumental music under the name 'Takla Makan'. His musical output is very much inspired by the work of Mike Oldfield, Vangelis, Jean-Michel Jarre and Tangerine Dream. " (taken from Takla Makan bandcamp page).
